      1

What is the melting point of your coconut wax — is it suitable for container candles?

Bio Green Wax supplies coconut wax with a melting point of 38–45°C, making it ideally suited for container (jar) candle applications. Its relatively low melting point means it remains liquid at room temperature in warm climates, so it is almost exclusively used in containers rather than freestanding candles.
For blended applications (coconut/rapeseed, coconut/soy, or coconut/beeswax blends), we also supply coconut wax grades with slightly elevated melting points of 45–52°C. Full melting point specifications are confirmed in the CoA provided with each batch. Contact our candle technical team for the most appropriate grade for your specific candle format.
      2

Is your coconut wax hydrogenated from virgin or refined coconut oil?

Bio Green Wax supplies coconut wax hydrogenated primarily from refined coconut oil (RBD — Refined, Bleached, Deodorised), which delivers a white, clean, odour-neutral wax suitable for fragranced candle applications. Coconut wax produced from virgin coconut oil is also available as a premium option, carrying a light natural coconut aroma.
Hydrogenation converts the liquid coconut oil into a solid wax by saturating its lauric-acid-rich fatty acid chains. The source oil significantly affects the wax's colour, odour, and purity — our standard grade (from RBD coconut oil) is preferred for professional candle production. Contact us to confirm your preferred source preference.
      3

What is the minimum order quantity for bulk coconut wax?

Our minimum order quantity for coconut wax is 25 kg (1 carton or bag) for small candle makers placing initial orders, and 20 MT (1 FCL) for industrial-scale buyers. For mid-volume buyers, pallet quantities of 200–600 kg are available. Full container loads offer the most competitive per-kg pricing. Trial and sample orders of 1–5 kg are available for performance testing purposes, subject to a small handling fee.
Large candle manufacturers and contract producers can access tiered volume pricing and long-term supply agreements with priority allocation. Contact our sales team with your expected monthly volume for an appropriate pricing proposal.
      4

What fragrance loading percentage does your coconut wax support?

Coconut wax is known for its exceptional fragrance-holding capacity. Our container-grade coconut wax supports fragrance loading of up to 10–12% by weight, higher than most soy wax grades. This makes coconut wax a favourite among luxury candle brands looking for maximum scent throw with a premium natural positioning. Optimal fragrance loading for most applications is 8–10%.
As with all waxes, we recommend conducting your own small-batch tests to confirm the optimal load for your specific fragrance oil, as polarity and flashpoint affect binding. Our technical team can provide fragrance compatibility guidance and test protocol recommendations.
      5

What is the current price for coconut wax per kg or per tonne?

Coconut wax is typically priced at a premium over soy and paraffin wax, reflecting the higher cost of coconut oil as a raw material and the additional hydrogenation processing. Bio Green Wax provides competitive current pricing for coconut wax — please contact our sales team directly for an up-to-date quotation based on your order volume, required grade, and destination.
Pricing is significantly more favourable for FCL orders versus small parcel shipments. We also offer fixed-price annual supply agreements for high-volume candle manufacturers. Include your estimated monthly volume and destination port when requesting a quotation.
      6

Is your coconut wax certified vegan and sustainable for eco-friendly candle brands?

Yes. Bio Green Wax coconut wax is 100% plant-derived, contains no animal-derived ingredients, and is not tested on animals — fully qualifying it as vegan and cruelty-free. Vegan society certification or equivalent documentation is available on request. For sustainability claims, we offer RSPO-certified (Mass Balance or Segregated) coconut wax for brands with palm-free or traceable-palm supply chain commitments.
For brands marketing coconut wax as a sustainable, eco-friendly, or natural ingredient, we provide origin certificates, carbon footprint data (on request), and supply chain transparency documentation.
      7

What is the FFA content and colour specification of your coconut wax?

5 Red / 5 Yellow, delivering a bright white appearance in natural form. These quality parameters confirm the purity and degree of hydrogenation of the source coconut oil. Low FFA content contributes to clean burning, minimal odour interference, and excellent fragrance compatibility. Colour and FFA are tested and confirmed in the CoA for each production batch.
Colour consistency across batches is important for candle brands using uncoloured (natural) coconut wax in their product line. Contact us for batch CoA samples.
      8

Does coconut wax perform well for scented jar candles with good scent throw?

Yes. Coconut wax is widely regarded as one of the highest-performing natural waxes for scent throw in container candles. Its molecular structure allows it to bind and release a high proportion of fragrance oil during burning, delivering a strong and consistent hot throw. Cold throw (fragrance from the unlit candle) is also excellent.
Coconut wax burns at a lower temperature than soy or paraffin, creating a larger, more even melt pool which improves fragrance volatilisation. These properties make it the wax of choice for luxury and premium scented candle brands. Our technical team can advise on fragrance and wick pairing for your specific jar size.
      9

Can coconut wax be used for massage candles and body care applications?

Yes. Coconut wax's low melting point (38–45°C) makes it ideal for massage candles, where the wax melts into a warm body oil at skin-safe temperatures. Massage candles are typically formulated with coconut wax, skin-conditioning oils (jojoba, sweet almond, coconut oil), and fragrance or essential oils, producing a product that delivers both candlelight ambience and a nourishing massage oil.
Bio Green Wax supplies cosmetic-grade coconut wax with full INCI documentation and EU Cosmetics Regulation compliance for massage candle and body care applications. Contact our cosmetics ingredients team for a grade specification and sample.
      10

Do you supply coconut wax in flake or pellet form?

Bio Green Wax supplies coconut wax in natural flakes and small pastilles/pellets. Flakes are the most common format for candle makers, offering easy measurement, consistent melting, and convenient packaging in 25 kg cartons or bags. Pellets are preferred by large-scale production facilities with automated dispensing and weighing systems.
Both formats are available in 25 kg packing units, pallet quantities, and 1,000 kg supersacks for high-volume buyers. Solid blocks can be arranged for very large-volume melting applications on request. Please specify your preferred form and production scale when enquiring.
      11

What is the shrinkage behaviour and glass adhesion quality of your coconut wax?

Coconut wax is known for its excellent glass adhesion and minimal shrinkage — two of its most valued properties for container candle production. It adheres tightly to glass walls during cooling, resulting in a smooth, professional finish with minimal wet spots or pull-away. Shrinkage (surface sinkholes) is significantly less pronounced than with soy wax, often eliminating the need for a second pour.
For best results, pour at 50–60°C into room-temperature glass containers and allow to cool slowly at ambient temperature. Our technical team can provide a full pour temperature and cooling protocol for your specific jar format and production environment.
      12

Is your coconut wax organic certified for use in premium natural candle products?

Yes. Bio Green Wax offers USDA Organic and/or ECOCERT-certified coconut wax grades for premium natural and organic candle brands that carry on-label organic certification claims. Organic-certified coconut wax is produced from certified organic coconut oil, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, with the organic chain of custody maintained through hydrogenation processing.
Due to the premium raw material cost, organic-certified coconut wax carries a price premium over standard grades. Minimum order quantities and lead times for organic grades may differ from standard supply. Contact our sustainability team for organic certification documentation and pricing.
      13

What are the packaging formats for coconut wax supply — cartons, bags, or drums?

Coconut wax from Bio Green Wax is packaged in: 25 kg corrugated cartons (flakes — ideal for small to medium candle makers), 25 kg multi-wall paper bags (flakes or pellets), 500 kg and 1,000 kg supersacks (for large automated production facilities), and pallet quantities (typically 500–700 kg per pallet). We do not typically supply coconut wax in drums.
All packaging is clearly labelled with product name, grade, certification status, net weight, and batch information. Palletised shipments are stretch-wrapped for container transport. Please specify your preferred packaging format and quantity when placing your enquiry.
      14

Can you supply coconut wax blended with rapeseed wax as a coconut-rapeseed blend?

Yes. Bio Green Wax offers a premium Coconut-Rapeseed Wax Blend combining the superior fragrance performance and glass adhesion of coconut wax with the European origin, lower carbon footprint, and vegan-friendly credentials of rapeseed (canola) wax. Our standard blend is 50:50 coconut/rapeseed, with custom ratios available.
This blend is highly popular with UK and European natural candle brands seeking a fully EU or UK-origin wax alternative to imported soy wax. The blend is vegan, non-GMO, and available with sustainable sourcing certification. See our dedicated Coconut-Rapeseed Wax Blend product listing for full specifications and pricing.
      15

What is the shelf life and storage condition for coconut wax?

Coconut wax has a shelf life of 18–24 months from the production date under proper storage conditions. It should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area at temperatures below 30°C, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong odours. In warmer climates, storage at temperatures above the wax melting point (38–45°C) will cause it to liquefy — this does not damage the wax but requires re-solidification before use.
All packaging should remain sealed until use to prevent contamination and moisture absorption. FIFO stock rotation is recommended. Full storage and handling guidance is provided in the SDS.
      16

What is the recommended pour temperature and minimum fragrance load for coconut wax?

For coconut wax container candles, we recommend melting the wax to 55–60°C, adding fragrance oil at 50–55°C, mixing thoroughly for 2 minutes, and then pouring at 45–50°C into room-temperature glass containers. Pouring below 45°C may cause rough or grainy surfaces. Minimum recommended fragrance load is 6% by weight; optimal performance is achieved at 8–10%. Allow candles to cure for 24–48 hours at room temperature before burning.
Avoid cooling candles in a refrigerator or cold environment, as rapid temperature change causes cracking. Our full candle-making technical guide is available from our candle support team.
      17

Is coconut wax suitable for tealight, votive, or wax melt applications?

Coconut wax performs excellently in wax melts and tealights, where its high fragrance load capacity and low melt pool temperature deliver outstanding scent throw in warmers and tealight holders. For tealights, we recommend using our slightly harder coconut wax grade (melting point 42–48°C) to ensure the tealight retains shape during packaging and transport. For wax melts, the standard container grade (38–45°C) works beautifully.
For votive candles, a coconut/beeswax or coconut/soy blend is recommended for improved freestanding stability. Contact our technical team for specific grade recommendations for each application.
      18

What certifications do you provide for coconut wax — RSPO, organic, non-GMO?

Bio Green Wax can provide the following certifications for coconut wax depending on the grade ordered: RSPO Mass Balance (MB) certification for palm kernel/coconut origin traceability, Organic certification (USDA Organic or ECOCERT) for certified organic grades, Non-GMO declaration (coconut is not a commercially GMO crop), Vegan/cruelty-free declaration, Halal certification (on request), and Kosher certification (on request).
These certifications are increasingly required by premium candle brands in European and North American markets to support product labelling and retail compliance. Please specify your certification requirements when requesting a quotation.
      19

What are the lead times for coconut wax supply to European and Asian candle makers?

Standard lead times for coconut wax from our supply origins (Philippines, Indonesia, India) are: 4–6 weeks to European ports (Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg), 2–3 weeks to South/Southeast Asian ports, and 3–4 weeks to Middle Eastern ports. For UK and European buyers, we work with select European stock-holding distributors who can supply popular coconut wax grades within 1–2 weeks.
For production-critical buyers, long-term supply contracts with pre-positioned inventory are available to ensure continuity of supply. Please share your required delivery window and destination port when enquiring for a precise lead time.
      20

Do you provide technical data sheets with performance benchmarks for your coconut wax?

Yes. Bio Green Wax provides comprehensive technical data sheets (TDS) for all coconut wax grades, covering: melting point, FFA content, colour specification, fragrance loading capacity, recommended pour temperature range, expected shrinkage behaviour, glass adhesion rating, and wick recommendations for standard jar sizes. Performance benchmarks including hot throw rating, cold throw rating, and burn time estimates are included where available.
TDS documents are available in PDF format upon request. For buyers developing new candle products, our technical support team is also available for formulation consultation via email or video call.
